March 13     smart gardening chat "Vegetable Gardening Basics” 10 AM
                   Gather with other gardeners Saturday mornings at BGC. Join owner, Walt Uebele in a discussion on the basics of vegetable gardening. Learn what to plant when, and some smart gardening tips to make this a successful year for you in the garden.

March 20    meditation GARDENs 10 AM 
                   Learn how to create a meditative space in your landscape where you can escape and relax. Our speaker, Cindy Rabe, owner of Moonflower Creations, specializes in meditation gardens. This is one talk you won’t want to miss. Call or e-mail to register.

APRIL
April 3      “The Backyard Orchard” 10 AM
                   Richard Polansky, owner of Hafs Road Orchard, returns to share more tips on caring for apple trees. Learn how to prune correctly, how and when to fertilize, and other secrets to growing your own fruit successfully. Call or e-mail to register.


April 10       smart gardening chat “Prune Like a Pro”
                   Ever wonder when to prune hydrangeas? How to keep spireas healthy looking? Or how to prune lilacs and dogwoods? It’s easier than you think! Owner Walt Uebele and nursery manager Kathy Lynch will enlighten us with the whens and the hows of pruning.

Our designers will assist with plant choices as you create a beautiful container garden to enjoy all season. Class size is limited so sign up early. Limit 3 containers/person.            demo: “RAISED VEGETABLE GARDENING”  10 AM

                   Learn from this demonstration just how easy it is to plant a vegetable garden in a raised bed. You can even help with the planting!



JUNE
June 5       herb fest      10 AM – 5 PM  free
                   Join us for a day devoted to herbs. Discover the joys of gardening with herbs and using them in your cooking. Master Gardener and the BGC Herb Lady, Marge Koenecke will demonstrate the many uses for herbs. She will also be on hand to answer your questions. Sample recipes and pot up your favorite herbs to enjoy at home (for a fee).

June 12        smart gardening chat            10 AM
                   Gather with other gardeners and bring your gardening questions. Owner Walt Uebele will lead a discussion on what problems you may be having in the garden and preventative pest management. 
 
June 19        oscar's birthday/ fairy gardens & sunflower houses
                      10 AM 
                   Kids of all ages (adults, too) can plant a fairy garden in a basket to take home and learn how to plant a sunflower house. Fee to be announced. Call or e-mail to register.
